Merville Ju-Jitsu Club

Mat Monkeys ( ages 7 – 11 yrs)

Young Grapplers ( ages 11 - 16 yrs)

Adult Class ( ages 17 – 70 yrs )

The Club's training methods help members develop through self-discovery.

They learn by doing. They develop through a programme of regular , partnered training.

Everyone is initially taught basic drills . Participants exhibiting particular natural talents like flexibility, balance or speed are then identified and their special talents are incorporated into training to improve and complement their basic skills.

This includes skills in striking, throwing, and wrestling, which forms an excellent foundation in self-defense skills & fitness, as well as sport , if they choose to compete.

The training is attribute as well as performance based. Though the participant's learn functional self-defense skills, they more importantly develop as individuals .

Club members develop confidence and real self-defense skills that they put into practice, against resistance, in a safe, supervised, training environment -- every training session. And they have fun doing it !
